Then she roused the king's son (тогда она разбудила королевского сына; to rouse — вспугивать, поднимать /дичь/; будить, поднимать) and put him in the tank (и /снова/ положила его в чан; to put /put/).
"Are you alive in the tank (ты жив, /там,/ в чане)?" asked the giant at daybreak (спросил великан на рассвете).
"I am (жив: «я /есть живой/»)," said the king's son.
The moment her father was away, Yellow Lily came, took the king's son out of the tank, gave him a good supper and bed, and watched till the giant was stirring before daybreak. Then she roused the king's son and put him in the tank.
"Are you alive in the tank?" asked the giant at daybreak.
"I am," said the king's son.
"Well, you have a great work before you today (ну, тебе предстоит огромная работа сегодня: «ты имеешь огромную работу перед тобой сегодня»). That stable you cleaned yesterday (та конюшня, которую ты вчера вычистил) hasn't been thatched these seven hundred years (не покрывалась соломой все эти /последние/ семьсот лет; thatch — соломенная или тростниковая крыша, солома или тростник /для кровли/; to thatch — крыть соломой или тростником), and if you don't have it thatched for me (и если ты не покроешь ее для меня) when I come home tonight (когда я приду сегодня вечером домой), with birds' feathers (птичьими перьями), and not two feathers of one colour or kind (и /так, чтобы/ не было двух перьев одного = одинакового цвета или вида), I'll have your head on the seven hundredth spike tomorrow (я завтра же насажу твою голову на семисотый колышек: «я буду иметь твою голову на семисотом колышке завтра»)."
"Well, you have a great work before you today.
