"I did not (я не /рассказал/)," said he; "I forgot (я забыл; to forget /forgot, forgotten/)."
"How did you forget (как же ты забыл)?" asked she (спросила она).
"The woman of the house gave me a drink (хозяйка дома дала мне какой-то напиток; woman — женщина; house — дом; woman of the house — хозяйка дома; to give /gave, given/; drink — питье; напиток) that made me forget (который заставил меня /все/ забыть; to make /made/ — делать; to make smb. do smth. — заставлять, побуждать, вынуждать кого-л. делать что-л.)."
"Well, don't forget telling him this night (что ж, не забудь рассказать ему /все/ этой ночью); and if she gives you a drink (а если она даст тебе напиток), don't take it from her (не бери его у нее)."
"I did not," said he; "I forgot."
"How did you forget?" asked she.
"The woman of the house gave me a drink that made me forget."
"Well, don't forget telling him this night; and if she gives you a drink, don't take it from her."
